10th January 2011 – The new 8MW ground mounted photovoltaic power plant in Torchiarolo (BR), property of AES Solar Energy and designed and projected by BFP, was connected to the Enel Distribuzione SpA network on 23rd December 2010.
BFP provided services for preliminary designs, final planning, administrative procedures for the attainment of authorisation, direction of works, responsibility for works, safety coordination during planning and execution phase, Owner’s engineering, provision of technical supervisors for civil and electrical works, preliminary investigation into connection to Terna network, compilation of operational regulations, declaration of new electrical workshop at Customs Office, successful conclusion of electrical energy purchase and transfer contracts, preliminary inquiries to apply for incentive tariffs and the verification of Performance Ratio guaranteed by the PV power plant, as well as the executive design and direction of works for extraordinary maintenance of the Fosso Infocaciucci canal.
Construction works which have now been finalised, involved one EPC Contractor and 23 sub-contracted companies from several European countries (specifically Italy, Spain and Germany), as well as numerous local workers and companies, ensuring an impressive economical flow on effect for the territory of Brindisi.
The power plant authorised by the Region of Puglia, effectively operational since 27thDecember 2010 is the property of a company wholly controlled by AES Solar Energy, a joint venture between The AES Corporation and Riverstone Holdings LLC, which obtained financing equal to the value of Euros 31 million for the project’s realisation.
